Adding more groups
Note: To create a group, you need to, at least initially, have an user be part of that group. To do this you must either add an existing user to the new group or create a new user to be part of the new group.

1. Go to Webmister by going to http://fulldomainname/webmister/
2. Either go to the page where you edit an existing user or the page where you create a new one.
3. Under Set Groups, enter the name of the new group in the Other field.
4. Click on the Set Values button.
Adding more users
1. Go to Webmister by going to http://fulldomainname/webmister/
2. In the New User field, enter the name of the new user.
3. Click on the Edit/Add button.
4. Select which groups you want the user to be part of. If you want to create a new group, enter the name of the new group in the Other field. Then enter the password, on the right, for the new user.
5. Click on the Set Values button.
Change a user's password, from Webmister
1. Go to Webmister by going to http://fulldomainname/webmister/
2. Select the user from the Existing Users field.
3. Click on the Edit/Add button.
4. Enter the new password on the right.
5. Click on the Set Values button.
Changing Webmister password, from server
Go to the server that your domain is on.

cd /home/username/domain-www/webmister
perl user_manage.cgi add $username $password users,administrators

Note "users,administrators" are the groups this user is being added to. Both are required, so include both in the password change.
Custom .htaccess and Password Protect
We do not install Webmister on the newer servers which use control panels through the web interface. Instead, password protected files use the .htaccess file located in the /home/usernam directory. If you have a customized .htaccess file, backup the file before added new protected directories in the control panel. Set up the directories to be protected in the Control Panel. Then copy the entries from the old .htaccess file into the new one just created on the server.
